| As a tour Guide and Egyptologist since 1991, I have always dreamed of changing how our tourists see Egypt. I want you to see Egypt through my eyes, to see it as the remarkable and spiritual place it is. Not to be herded in 40 seater coaches but taking the time to really show you our country's sights. I come from Cairo and I obtained my degrees in business administration, Egyptology and Tourism at Cairo University. In 1991 I became a Tour Guide, travelling from Cairo to Luxor and Luxor to Aswan and back again, all in 4 days. A whistle stop tour just like the Americans and Japanese visiting the UK. I have visited the UK in 2001 and 2003. My most recent visit was the summer of 2004. My family live in Cairo where I own two flats. I soon want to be able to take small groups of tourists to stay with the family and experience Egyptian life. To see the day-to-day way of life of the people just outside Cairo. My base is in Luxor. I dreamed of Queen Tiye Tours in 2000 when I met my partner. Queen Tiye was also a very strong woman. My first tourists with Queen Tiye visited in December 2000. We had a week in Luxor and two nights in Cairo over Christmas. It was very satisfiying for me to be able to offer these special excursions for Maureen, who is partially wheelchair bound, Bob who was in his 90th year managed to see many sights. We travelled overnight on the train from Luxor to Cairo and Bob slept for nine hours. We visited the Cairo Museum on the first day and the Light and Sound show at the Pyramids that evening. On Christmas eve we had a dinner cruise and Christmas morning, with a temperature of 72F, we visited the Pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx. I can arrange all the usual trips to Valley Of The Kings and Queens, Valley of the Nobles and Workers, Karnak and Luxor Temples. Visit Karnak Temple in the afternoon and Luxor Temple just as it is getting dark, it becomes a magical place and the reliefs on the columns really stand out. I would like to show you the places not on the regular tourist trail. How about Medinet Habu, and the Ramesseum, the Mortuary Temple of Ramesses II, Gurna Temple (Temple of Seti I). Marvellous buildings and often there are only a handful of people there. I can also tailor make any trip to your requirements. A trip to the local market has always been popular. We start at 10.30am, take the local bus and walk down to the market, season permitting. See the women carrying cabbages the size of washing up bowls on their heads, often you will be the only tourists there. We then stop for lunch in town, the restaurant has improved in stature lately. We used to sit in the street with all the noise and vehicles going past the back of our chairs. After we continue with leisurely caleche drive, arriving at the river early afternoon, we then take a felucca to Banana Island and eat many tiny bananas. Just as the sun starts to set we return to our felucca, being out on the river to watch the sunset, magical! I regularly go to Aswan - it's my favourite place. We travel by train and we spend one night in a Four Star Hotel. The places to visit are Philae Temple, Kitchener Island, High & Low Dam, Unfinished Obelisque, the market, Abu Simbel, Reserved Island Natural and Nubian Village.
